Each year the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) runs the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC). There are three levels of the competition offered each year, the AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12. Each level has an A and a B section.
The Department of Mathematics hosts levels 8, 10, and 12 for both sections (A and B).
The cost to write the competition will be $12.50 per level and section (for example: $12.50 for AMC 10: Section A and $12.50 for AMC 10: Section B).
Please refer to the AMC's website for further details on the different competitions and rules regarding which level you can write. Please note that you are responsible for ensuring you have registered for the correct competition and may be disqualified if you have selected the incorrect level for your grade. Proof of grade will be required on the test day.
The website also has sample problems available for practice.
Registration will close 1 month before the contest:
- The AMC 8 is written in November
- The AMC 10/12 is written in February
All tests will be written at the downtown (St George) campus.
